"People
will benefit from this because I can make them a space they
love to come home to, without making them spend a fortune. And
it can be done all in a day's work."
O'Leary, 45, recently started her business, House to Home
Redesign. She redecorates and redesigns for people who are
selling their homes and also organizes for people who are
moving into homes.
She completed a course with Redesign America in Davie, a
school that teaches its students the ins and outs of interior
decorating.
"I was so excited when I took the course because I saw
first-hand how happy people are when they walk into their
transformed homes," she said. "I have always had a great
interest in it and my family really urged me to live my
dream."
O'Leary and her husband, Jeff Nurge, have a 10-year-old
son, Matthew Nurge. They moved from Hollywood five years ago
when O'Leary gave her own home a makeover.
"I have so much fun doing this," she said. "It's great that
I can make a living doing what I love and thrill the people I
am helping."
A consultation with O'Leary costs $100. This allows her to
come into the home and see the space and furnishings she will
be working with. She also discusses the lifestyles of the
people who live there, and the function of the home. A full
day of service is $850 and a half day is $450. O'Leary tackles
any or all rooms in a house.
"The great things about this is people don't have to run
out and buy all new furniture," she said. "That can get very
costly and it can be inconvenient for the homeowner. I simply
work with what the family has and I am sensitive to what is in
their home because it is theirs.
"When the day is over, a family will leave their house and
come back to a home. That's what my business is all about."
